Meet Your Doula.

Hi, I’m Stephanie.

I’m a wife, mom, and major birth nerd. After working in the marketing world for many years, I left to “doula” full-time and pursue a career in nursing and my dream to become a nurse-midwife. Being invited to support people in their birthing space is a truly special experience. Another kid, six years, and around 200+ births later, I’m so grateful that I made that career change. I recently completed an accelerated bachelor’s degree in nursing program in June 2024 and look forward to expanding my scope into a more clinical role.

When I work with families, I love delving deeper into the nuances of the birthing process as we develop a strategy for creating a safe and satisfying experience. Throughout our time together, I am here to advocate for you and to help you navigate your birth setting, choices, and desires. I also hope to provide a source of comfort and strength when you need it and to help you ease into parenthood more confidently.

Birth work has the capacity to be revolutionary and deeply restorative. With this perspective, I strive to provide evidence-based/trauma-informed care and to advocate for informed consent and freedom of choice.

  • We found the labor room to be a blur of sounds, lights, nurses and doctors. Everything feels rushed and urgent questions were tossed at us by nearly every visitor. Stephanie was our translation layer and our shield that kept our nerves in a sustainable place - we were so glad she was with us.

  • Stephanie is such a gem. She played a huge role in helping me achieve my dream of a successful VBAC. She provided me with the best information and research to answer all of my many many questions, concerns and fears. She ultimately led me down a path to calm, supported, confident and ready to trust my body in a natural birth experience.

  • Steph was the light in our family. I had never had anyone help us in the evening with my previous babies and Steph made us all feel so loved and comfortable. I can't say enough great things about this amazing woman ... trusting someone with your baby is a big deal and Steph became part of the family.

  • Stephanie kept everyone calm (and not just my mom and husband, but the nurses as well). She also was our advocate. There was a moment after my emergency C-section when they wanted to take me to the ICU and separate me from my baby, but Stephanie was able to work with the staff and ensure I could stay in the postpartum ward with my daughter, safely. I can't imagine what my L&D would have been like without her support.

  • Stephanie became a key person for me to turn to every step of the way. Most importantly, she always respected my choices and only provided her opinion and insight when asked. I felt so supported to make the best choices for me and my family and I'm so grateful Stephanie was there to advocate for me during the process.

    — ALYSSA

  • Stephanie always approached her role as gentle advisor, never judging our birth preferences, but always there to inform on any risks/benefits and the available evidence. During labor and delivery at Kaiser Oakland, she was an affirming presence, reminding us and the birth team of what it was we wanted out of the birth - and ultimately we were able to have the birth of our dreams.

  • When I met Stephanie, I had no idea how big of a role she would play in our lives. My labor was 49 hours long, and my baby girl was sunny-side up. We could not have gone through any part of it without Stephanie. She gave us all she had to give and then some. Emotionally, mentally, and physically, she was there with such strength and confidence that rubbed off on all of us.
